Fraser River Foreshore Cleanup
The first phase of a stormwater outfall improvement project, this foreshore work included the survey and removal of an accumulation of woody debris and invasive plants from two polygons within foreshore of the Fraser River in Delta, BC.
Once collected into discrete piles, the woody debris and invasive vegetation was loaded into disposal bins and removed from the site. Achieved through a combination of heavy equipment and manual works, this project required the daily closure of the westbound lane of River Road.
The lane closure, combined with the complex nature of this tide and high-freshet-impacted critical habitat work necessitated close coordination with the Corporation of Delta, the Registered Environmental Professional of Record, Port Metro Vancouver, and local First Nations.
